Family Support Determinent on Teen's Body Image       (on Body Image)

Taiwan: It quotes a research, which finds out that the degree of family's support towards teenage girls determines their desire to reduce weight. It is argue that when teenage girls do not get family members' acceptance towards their body shape, they will turn to weight reduction to draw back the acceptance they look for. The author calls for an acceptance towards different body shape.

Handler's Journey to Seeking Self-Worth       (on Body Image)

  This is an autobiography accounting the author's, Stacey Handler, journey in finding self-acceptance and self-worth. The book documents her struggle with body image. This is more than a personal story. Many women are facing the same struggle due to a societal pressure to have a no-fat and perfect body. The author encourages women to love themselves, love their bodies, and know their self-worth.

Advertisement Constructs Mainstream Femininity       (on Media Representation)

Taiwan :The article discusses a local advertisement in Taiwan to illustrate how the media, which the author equates with popular culture, constructs a representation of femininity. The author also argues that femininity is a commodity that helps to sustain capitalism and patriarchy.

Female Product Advertisements Portray Bias       (on Media Representation)

Taiwan :The article studies two advertisements; one selling lingerie and another jewelry. The author conducts a content analysis of these two advertisements and examines the femininity the ads try to present and gender stereotypes behind the ads. The author urges that viewers need to be aware of the gender bias behind the facet of the portrayed self-determined modern women and that women take back their subjectivity.
